Kybella injections stop you from struggling with unwanted neck and chin fat anymore!
Kybella® is the first and only FDA-approved injection treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fat that causes a double chin. The substance is a man-made form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring material that destroys fat cells so these cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
Kybella Treatment FAQS
If you've tried every diet and exercise plan imaginable but still struggle with unwanted neck and chin fat, you aren't alone. Many people who eat healthy and have no problem toning their arms, legs and abs still find it difficult to eradicate the fat around their submental area. This low hanging, fleshy region is often referred to as a "double chin."
With Kybella treatments, you can eliminate the need for liposuction or other invasive fat-elimination techniques. Through a series of injections, Kybella® mimics the body's natural fat-absorption process and leaves you with a sleek and slim chin area that's picture perfect.
Kybella treatments are administered at our mediacal spa by injection. The actual procedure takes about 30 minutes and requires a consultation for approval as a good candidate prior to scheduling treatment.
After assessing the area to be treated, several tiny injections are administered directly into fat under the chin. It begins to dissolve fat immediately by using deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. The dissolved fat is then processed through your body's natural metabolism.
The chin area will be marked out and several tiny injections will be administered to the area which takes about 5 minutes. During the Kybella injections patients report a burning and achy sensation that subsides after a few minutes. After the injections patient then ice for a few minutes. Immediately there will be swelling that will occur and may last for a week or so depending on how much Kybella was used and the amount of fat present.
Downtime occurred most commonly after the first Kybella treatment session for most patients. Normal activities should be able to be resumed, but swelling of the chin area will occur and improve each day. It is recommended to use an ice pack for a few nights after treatment and elevate head to reduce swelling.
Patients can experience numbness, redness, nodules, bruising and firmness at injection sites after treatment, which usually resolves over 4-5 weeks. Some patients have also experienced a tightening of the skin in the area.
Most Kybella treatments require 2-4 treatment sessions (for most patients, depending on the amount of fat and improvement desired). Permanent results should be noticeable in 6 weeks. Once the desired results are achieved, further treatment is not expected since this is permanent volume reduction.
