Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the surface of the skin, removing dead skin cells and fine vellum hair, often referred to as "peach fuzz."

What is dermaplaning and how does it work?
What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning helps the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, and dull skin, leaving you with a smooth and bright complexion. You will notice your makeup will go on smoother, making this the perfect procedure before an event.
Can dermaplaning be combined with other skin treatments?
Yes, it can be done alone or added on before a chemical peel (for experienced peel patients) to achieve a deeper peel. Following a dermaplaning treatment, the skin will be able to better absorb active ingredients in a chemical peel as well as with home care products.
How often should I get a dermaplaning?
On average, most patients come every 4-6 weeks.
How do I care for my skin before or after dermaplaning?
Stop using products that exfoliate the skin 24-48 hours before your dermaplaning appointment, including any physical or chemical exfoliation like face scrubs, acids (glycolic, salicylic, etc), and any kind of retinol.
After your dermaplaning session, it's important to follow these post-care instructions. Avoid excessive sun exposure, activities that bring heat to the face like strenuous workouts/saunas, and refrain from using any active ingredients in skincare, as mentioned above, for up to 72 hours. These instructions are crucial as they aid in the healing process and help maintain the results of the dermaplaning procedure.
