Peptides are naturally occurring amino acid sequences that act as messengers in your body, triggering powerful, targeted responses like fat metabolism, collagen production, and cellular repair. Whether your goal is to lose weight, build muscle, enhance cognitive clarity, or slow down the aging process, peptides offer a science-based solution tailored to your body's needs.
Peptide Therapy
Peptide therapy is a revolutionary approach to anti-aging, weight management, hormone optimization, and regenerative health. At Infinite Youth Medical Spa, we're committed to helping you look, feel, and perform at your absolute best — inside and out.
What is peptide therapy?
How does the process work to start peptide therapy?
Getting started with peptide therapy at Infinite Youth Medical Spa is a simple, personalized process designed around your unique goals and health needs. Here’s what to expect from start to finish:
1. Initial Consultation (Virtual or In-Clinic)
Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation either virtually or in our Minnetonka clinic. We’ll discuss your symptoms, health goals, medical history, and whether peptide therapy is a good fit for you. We'll provide a custom lab order for blood work if we think it applies to your situation. This will help us evaluate hormone levels, metabolic markers, and overall wellness to ensure your peptide protocol is tailored to your specific biology. If lab testing is not necessary, we will go over the peptide(s) that we believe to be the best fit for your unique situation, create a plan, and show you how to begin.
2. Lab Work Follow-Up Appointment (2 weeks after lab work was performed)
If blood work was ordered, we'll meet again, either in person or virtually, to review your labs, revisit your symptoms, and walk you through the peptides we recommend. You’ll learn how each one works and how to begin using them safely and effectively.
3. The Start of Peptide Therapy
Two weeks after your initial appointment (if no blood work was ordered) or two weeks after the follow-up bloodwork appointment, your peptides will be ready for pickup at our clinic or can be mailed to your house. At that point, you can begin your customized therapy plan and start your journey toward feeling better, aging more slowly, and living with more energy and vitality. Our team is here to support you every step of the way.
What are some common peptides used for therapy?
At Infinite Youth Medical Spa, we have access to over 100 various peptides that can be tailored and customized to fit your specific needs and concerns. Some of the most common and popular ones are listed below.
- NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide)
NAD+ is a vital coenzyme found in every cell of the body, essential for energy production, cellular repair, and healthy brain function. As we age, NAD+ levels naturally decline leading to fatigue, brain fog, and slower metabolism. NAD+ therapy delivers this coenzyme directly into the bloodstream helping to restore cellular health and support overall wellness. It is ideal for those feeling run down, experiencing brain fog, recovering from stress or illness, or looking to optimize performance and longevity. Benefits of NAD+ therapy include increased energy and reduces fatigue, improves focus, memory, and mood, supports metabolism and detoxification, enhances sleep and stress resilience, and promotes healthy aging and cellular repair. - Sermorelin
Stimulates your body's natural growth hormone production, supporting lean muscle development, deeper sleep, fat loss, and cellular repair. A foundational peptide for those seeking longevity and vitality. - Tesofensine
A powerful peptide for appetite suppression and weight loss, Tesofensine works by boosting neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin to reduce cravings while enhancing mood and motivation. - AOD 9604
Known as the fat-burning fragment of HGH, AOD 9604 targets stubborn fat stores without impacting blood sugar or muscle mass—making it ideal for safe, non-stimulant fat loss. - GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide)
A regenerative powerhouse used in both injectable and topical applications. GHK-Cu stimulates collagen, elastin, skin repair, and hair regrowth—perfect for total skin and scalp rejuvenation. - Semaglutide
Originally developed for type 2 diabetes, Semaglutide is now widely used for sustainable medical weight loss. It regulates appetite and glucose levels while promoting consistent fat reduction over time. - Tirzepatide
A dual-action peptide that targets both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, Tirzepatide delivers enhanced blood sugar regulation, powerful appetite suppression, and accelerated weight loss. This more potent peptide is ideal for patients looking for transformative results. - 5-Amino-1MQ
A metabolism-boosting peptide that inhibits the NNMT enzyme to promote fat breakdown, muscle preservation, and energy production. 5-Amino-1MQ supports body recomposition and may help with inflammation and longevity as well. - Kisspeptin
Optimizes reproductive hormones and supports fertility, libido, and hormonal balance. Kisspeptin is also being studied for its positive effects on anxiety and neurological health. - Oxytocin
Known as the cuddle hormone, Oxytocin enhances emotional connection, trust, intimacy, and even weight loss. Beneficial for stress management and overall emotional wellness. - Epithalon (Epitalon)
A potent anti-aging peptide that helps regulate sleep, increase melatonin production, and stimulate telomerase activity for DNA repair and extended cellular lifespan. Think of it as a reset for your body’s biological clock. - TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4)
A regenerative peptide that promotes tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and accelerates healing from injury or surgery. TB-500 enhances flexibility, endurance, and recovery by improving cell migration and blood vessel growth, making it ideal for active individuals and those recovering from physical trauma. - BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157)
One of the most versatile healing peptides available, BPX-157 supports gut health, tendon and ligament healing, joint recovery, and inflammation reduction. It works by increasing blood flow and promoting rapid repair of soft tissues, making it ideal for anyone recovering from injury, surgery, or chronic inflammation.
How long should you be on peptide therapy?
Peptide therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all and that's what makes it so effective. The length of treatment depends on your goals, your body’s response, and the specific peptides used. Below is a general guide to help you understand what to expect.
- Weight Loss & Metabolism Support
(Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Tesofensine, AOD 9604, 5-Amino-1MQ)
Recommended Duration: 3–6 months
These peptides retrain your metabolism and appetite. Consistency over several months leads to sustainable, long-term fat loss. Many patients continue therapy for 6–12 months with medical supervision to maintain results. - Anti-Aging & Longevity
(Sermorelin, Epithalon, GHK-Cu)
Recommended Duration: Ongoing or cyclical (e.g., 3–6 months per year)
These peptides support cellular repair, hormone production, and DNA health. Most patients use them as part of a long-term anti-aging or biohacking routine. - Injury Recovery & Inflammation
Recommended Duration: 4–8 weeks for acute injuries, up to 12 weeks or longer for cronic pain or inflamation
Healing begins quickly, but consistent use ensures complete tissue repair and reduces the risk of reinjury. - Hormone Optimization & Libido
(Sermorelin, Kisspeptin, Oxytocin)
Recommended Duration: 3–6 months, followed by reassessment
Hormone regulation takes time. These peptides work gradually to support libido, mood, fertility, and hormonal balance. Your provider may recommend cycling or tapering after initial success. - Body Composition & Muscle Support
(5-Amino-1MQ, AOD 9604, Sermorelin)
Recommended Duration: 6–12 weeks per cycle
These peptides help preserve muscle, increase metabolism, and improve body composition. Often used alongside nutrition and fitness plans. - Peptide Cycling & Maintenance
Some peptides are most effective when used in cycles or short-term intensives. For example:
Epithalon: 10–20 days every 6 months
Sermorelin: 5 nights/week for 3–6 months
PC-157/TB-500: Until healing is complete - Personalized Treatment Plans
Every body is different—and so is every peptide protocol. At Infinite Youth Medical Spa, we take time to customize your peptide plan based on your health goals, lab results, hormone levels, and progress over time.

Who is not a candidate for peptide therapy?
Not everyone is an ideal candidate for peptide therapy. Here is a breakdown of who may not be a candidate.
- Pregnant or Breastfeeding
Peptides have not been studied extensively in pregnant or lactating women, so use is generally avoided. - Active Cancer or History of Hormone-Sensitive Cancer
Certain peptides can stimulate cell growth or hormone pathways, which may be risky in those with cancer or a history of it (especially breast, prostate, or other hormone-sensitive cancers).
What are the most common side effects of peptide therapy and injections?
Peptide therapy is generally well-tolerated, but like any medical treatment, it can come with side effects and reactions, especially depending on the type of peptide used, dosage, and delivery method (injection vs oral vs topical).
Common Local Injection Site Reactions
These are the most frequently reported and typically mild and usually resolve within a few hours to a day:
- Redness
- Swelling
- Itching
- Bruising
- Pain or tenderness at the injection site
General Side Effects
These may vary based on the type of peptide.
- Headaches
- Fatigue or drowsiness
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Nausea or upset stomach
- Mild water retention or bloating
- Increased appetite or changes in hunger patterns
- Flushing or warmth sensation
Less Common Side Efects
- Joint pain or stiffness
- Carpal tunnel-like symptoms (tingling in hands/fingers)
- Increased sweating, particularly at night
- Mood changes (irritability or mild anxiety in some cases)
- Sleep disturbances or vivid dreams
- Elevated blood sugar or insulin resistance
- Allergic reaction (rare, but may include rash, itching, or more serious anaphylaxis symptoms)
Important Safety Notes
- Side effects are more likely when peptides are used without appropriate medical supervision.
- Peptides should always be prescribed based on labs and a thorough health history.
- Working with a medical professional ensures proper dosing, rotation of injection sites, and monitoring for adverse effects.
